Signing Off Ole-Six

Splashy and splendid 2005. The year I tossed away my singlehood. What were planned for months was translated into a mere 4hours dinner. Actually more like an assembly rakyat – about 600 lengchais/lengluis gave face and turned up in the JW Marriot KL, another 350+ in Seremban. And then, there was Europe trip.

Yet those were slightly pale in contrast with 2006. Well, it is unfair to compare. It is just a different kind of experience, another level of revelation.

Nothing has prepared me the journey of becoming a mother. Recalling my obs tapping on his machine monitor and jovially explained, “see, this is the heart beat (of 2mth embryo)” Staring at a doink doink doink spot, I was awed – overwhelmed in a fearful way. I didn’t even know then that heart is the first organ to form in a pre born being.

Anyway, a big chunk of my pregnancy time was spent running in airports and catching planes. My clients are SEA based. In March, my hubby and I flew to New York/Florida for a global sales conference. We were treated with a luxurious cruise to Carribean/Mexico. Check out the BIG SHIP at
http://www.rssc.com/ships/ship.jsp?code=VOY But nothing beats BIG APPLE. I love NY buzz, vibes and its diversity.

And then, came Aug. Labour is really ouch! ouch! but it is all worth it. Trust me, babies are irresistible and fun. We very much welcome any volunteers to help babysitting baby Aden during weekends! Free hands-on training available. Seriously, now I look at women with full esteem, especially those mothers of several kids AND live in that era whereby the magic potion was not invented. What I mean is this
http://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/labourandbirth/painrelief/epidural/ Don't ask me the real process, I didn't have it. (I had overestimated my pain endurance)

Apart from all those, I also made new acquaintances and catching up with old friends. In the process, I’ve uncovered the following:
- bad things happened to good people
- some people change, more often turned into bad stinking eggs
- people treated other people badly (and still think it is justifiable to do so)
Bad decisions, bad endings and bad karma for some people that I know. What a letdown! Those who are hurt, please pick up the pieces and get yourself composed. Tomorrow is a new beginning and new hope. For those who chose to inflict lifetime pain onto others, just to satisfy their wants and desires, please learn the word compassion and respect. On the other hand, to those who had taught me kindness, humility and selfless-ness, thank you so much.

What else I left out on 2006? Oh yea, how could I miss it…the cawan of the year - World Cup and that infamous ZiZou headbutting. That also marked the 4th year that I’ve known my hubby. Despite the ups and downs, I am more than grateful that we are an item. Of course, it is even more heart-warming to have baby Aden this Xmas. I’m sure he is very glad that finally a Jr Alan to cheer for MU together.

All in all, I've realized how miraculous life has been. Could this fact of “Sandy-Woo-attempting-to-resurrect-her-blog” be counted as a miracle? Perhaps. Even more unbelievable if you find me maintaining the blog but hey, you never know. Do tune in once awhile.

To all my beloved family, friends and relatives: Cheers to 2006! May your 2007 filled with good health and abundance of joy. Merry Xmas & Happy New Year.
